Indians enter Mauritius free — no application, no fee, stay granted at the counter. The one mandatory step is the All-in-One Travel Digital Form before you fly.

Mauritius is the rare long-haul honeymoon destination where the paperwork takes less time than choosing the resort. Indian passport holders don't apply for anything before flying and pay no government fee — entry is granted at the immigration counter at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam airport. What trips travellers up isn't a visa; it's skipping the one mandatory pre-arrival step.
The one step that matters: the All-in-One form
Every arriving passenger completes the Mauritius All-in-One Travel Digital Form — immigration, customs and health in one submission — on the official portal (safemauritius.govmu.org), ideally within 72 hours before departure. It's free, takes ten minutes, and airlines may ask for the confirmation at check-in. Do it at home, not in the check-in queue.
How long you can stay
- The stay is granted by the immigration officer on arrival — commonly 60 days for Indian tourists.
- Extensions are possible at the Passport & Immigration Office in Port Louis, applied for before your granted stay expires; extensions are free but discretionary.
- Sources differ on the headline number (60 vs 90 days). Plan your booking around 60; treat anything beyond as an extension decision made in Mauritius, not a promise made in Delhi.
The conditions at the counter
- Passport valid at least 6 months, in good condition
- All-in-One Travel Digital Form confirmation (QR/printout)
- Confirmed return or onward ticket
- Accommodation proof — resort confirmation or host address
- Sufficient funds (the official guideline is about USD 100 per person per day)
Visa-free covers tourism, family visits and short business meetings only. Work, study or long stays need the right permit arranged before travel — the free entry stamp is not a work permit.
Why this matters for your trip
No visa timeline means Mauritius books on flight and resort availability alone — a genuine last-minute honeymoon option in a way Schengen or the Maldives-plus-seaplane logistics never are. Tell us your dates and we'll build the itinerary; the entry side is already solved.
