Andaman vs Maldives for Your Honeymoon: The Comparison Nobody Does Honestly
By Flynk Travel Desk · 12 July 2026

Every honeymoon consult eventually reaches this fork, usually framed as 'Maldives obviously, unless…?' — and the unless deserves better than it gets. These are two genuinely different trips wearing similar turquoise. We sell both without preference, so here is the comparison as we give it across the desk.
The money, first and honestly
A 5-night Andaman honeymoon — premium ferries, a Havelock resort, private transfers — lands around ₹70,000–1,00,000 for the couple including flights from most metros. The equivalent-feeling Maldives trip (4-star resort, half-board, the split-stay structure) runs ₹1.6–2.2 lakh; the full overwater-luxury version climbs past ₹3 lakh. The Maldives premium is real and it buys real things — the question is whether those things are your things.
What the Maldives premium buys
The overwater villa is the honeymoon image for a reason: glass floors, private decks, steps into a lagoon, resorts engineered so the two of you barely see another human. Service is choreographed romance — floating breakfasts, sandbank dinners, spa pavilions over water. House reefs mean world-class snorkelling begins at your ladder. If the brief is 'total escape, zero logistics, maximum cinema', nothing on Earth out-Maldives the Maldives.
What Andaman answers back
Radhanagar Beach has out-ranked famous Maldivian beaches on international lists — that sunset is not a consolation prize. Andaman offers something the resort-bubble can't: variety. Three islands with different personalities, Neil's cycling lanes and natural bridge, Elephant Beach's coral, Cellular Jail's goosebump history, actual restaurants with actual choices. Your phone works, your UPI works, no forex, no passport — just a photo ID and our permit paperwork. The friction is honestly lower for a first big trip together.
The friction ledger
Maldives: passport (visa on arrival is free for Indians), forex or cards, seaplane/speedboat logistics, and captivity to one resort's dining prices — which is why we push meal plans hard. Andaman: flight timings via Port Blair, ferry schedules that respect weather, and monsoon months (June–September) that we flatly don't recommend for first-timers. Neither is difficult; they're different shapes of easy.
The honest matchmaking
Choose the Maldives when the overwater image is non-negotiable, the budget clears two lakh without strain, and you want the world designed down to two people. It is the correct splurge for the couple who wants to disappear.
Choose Andaman when ₹1 lakh is the honest ceiling, when variety beats seclusion, when one of you gets restless after a day and a half of resort perfection — or when this is the first trip and you'd rather bank the difference toward the next one. Nobody on Radhanagar at golden hour feels like they compromised.
And the quiet third option: some couples do Andaman for the honeymoon and the Maldives for the first anniversary, converting one inflated week into two great trips. More of our clients land here than either destination's marketing would like.
Both packages — the Andaman 5N Island Escape and the Maldives 4N Water-Villa Escape — carry itemised pricing on their pages, so you can run this comparison against real numbers for your dates. Bring us the budget you're actually comfortable with; the right answer falls out fast.
